Colour Sampler (ongoing) is a series of paintings which explore memory, narrative, location and time through the use of a simple grid structure and a specific collection of colours and tones. Through abstraction and colour interactions, the work aims to evoke the emotional experience of a particular event, remembered experience or story. Each painting acts as a still frame, a moment frozen in time. The descriptive title of each painting directs the audience in their interpretation of the work.
The Colour Sampler paintings were first exhibited in September 2010 at the Gravelly Barn Art Centre in Braughing, Hertfordshire.
