Kitty and the Cartwheelers

Kitty and the Cartwheelers’ Shopping Jeep Bonanza (1996) celebrates the phenomenon of shopping jeeps in the lives of everyday cartwheelers. This documentary film introduces the makers, customisers, admirers and aficionados of the humble shopping jeep in a series of gently observed portraits. The film reveals the indiosyncracies, passions and loves which define the lives of this extraordinary collection of ordinary people. There is more to shopping jeeps than just vinyl on wheels.

Kitty was screened at the Sheffield International Documentary Festival and Films de Femmes, 19th Festival International, Creteil France in 1997. The film has screened on Australian television and sold to Canal+. It also had a successful theatrical season at The George Cinemas, Melbourne and Perth Australia. 16mm Film 12 minutes.
