In November 2021, Michaela was commissioned to create and present a live immersive fulldome experience for the annual IDFA DocLab conference at the impressive ARTIS-Planetarium, Amsterdam. The event brought together four artists who each questioned our place in time and space. Michaela’s contribution, Elastic Reality, was a performative lecture that combined live spoken word with 360° immersive digital imaging. The work explored, and undermined, the concept of the body as a fixed entity. Based on ecological principles of mutuality and interconnection the piece used embodied storytelling to lead the audience on a sensory immersive journey that not only blurred, but erased the boundaries between each viewer and the surrounding audiovisual environment. The event included artworks and performances by Pedro Rodolpho Ramos (Berlin), Mariam Natroshvili (Tbilisi) and Mourad Bncr & Sean Caruso (Montreal).
