Art Exhibition

French & Godbold Greetings Cards and Tiny Gift Cards will be for sale at the Gravelly Barn Summer Exhibition this weekend. Doors open at 11.00am Friday 17th June. Click here for full details. We are delighted to be able to include our work in the show and can highly recommend a stop for tea, cake and visual treats if you are in the area.
Successful Transit
Despite it’s somewhat tiny 60x60mm proportions, we are excited to report that the first French & Godbold Tiny Gift Card has successfully made it’s way through the Royal Mail postage system and arrived safely at it’s destination. The Tiny Gift Card envelope is outside the minimum “absolute limit” specified by Royal Mail. And yet they have done us proud and delivered regardless. Further international postage experiments will be undertaken shortly, stay tuned for further reports….
Reconnaissance
A busy time at F&G last week. At Progressive Greetings Live on Wednesday, we were inspired by the generosity of the traders in sharing their knowledge and experience of the greetings card industry. Thanks to Helen, Danny, Joanna and Alec for some great conversations. Since then, Richard has been out and about showing our portfolio, receiving positive feedback and some definite interest from local retailers. We spent Sunday walking the aisles of many London markets, looking for the one we liked the most for a regular F&G stall. Sunday Up Market in the Truman Brewery, Brick Lane is the winner. We had a great day with many beautiful things to see, delightful people to speak to and amazing food to sustain us along the way. Perfect.
Portfolio
French & Godbold are off to the Progressive Greetings Live trade show in London tomorrow. A foray into the world of greetings cards….we have much to discover. Richard has been compiling a portfolio of our work today. We pick up our new business cards tomorrow morning just in time for our afternoon of networking.
Card Collections
We are pleased to announce that French & Godbold card sets are now available at our online shop. Collections of four or six French & Godbold Greetings Cards or a set of ten Tiny Gift Cards are now listed for sale. Take some time to browse our range and select your own set of favourite cards.
Action

So much happening this week, French & Godbold is officially launched and our greetings cards have already begun shipping. We are excited, it feels like a delightful adventure. I am also assisting in film selection for the University of Hertfordshire Digital Animation Film Day on 23rd May. Still taking daily portraits but no chance to upload this week. I did manage a hour of weeding yesterday in my slightly disheveled vegetables beds. Sometimes life is fun when its busy with many things.
Launch
French & Godbold officially launch today. Our shop is online. All our greetings cards are listed for sale at our new Etsy shop. Our website is running smoothly and we have even begun tweeting. We feel proud having reached this stage of our project. Its time to pop a cork and enjoy a celebration. We would love to know what you think, please leave a us comment.
Saturday
French & Godbold are delighted to be previewing their new range of greetings card at the Hertford Vintage Fayre this Saturday 30th May. The Vintage Fayre takes place at the Corn Exchange, 39 Fore St, Hertford SG14 1AL, 10am-4pm. We had a great day the last time we attended, good music, great tea and cakes and good company. If you are in the area and wish to celebrate another special event this bank holiday weekend, please drop by for a visit.
First Run
We are excited at French & Godbold this week because we have received our first run of greetings cards from our printer. They have done a beautiful job and the images look as lovely as we hoped they would. Lots of folding and bagging for Richard and Michaela this week…but we are happy about that.
