The new French and Godbold packaging stamps arrived today from The English Stamp Company. These stamps will adorn our parcels as they travel the world. We are very pleased with their functionality and their handsome good looks. Who doesn’t love a good stamp? We are also considering including a miniature sticker collection in our parcels as an additional treat. Our card development process continues and we currently have 38 of 39 designs ready for print, first run very soon.

Dreaming of Harry Seidler
A new fellow has emerged today as part of the F&G “Garden Creatures” greeting card series. A snail dreaming of a house inspired by the early work of 1960’s modernist architect, Harry Seidler. This snail will make a beautiful card design but dreams ultimately of being wallpaper in a Seidler house.
Preparations
Fine tuning and preparations are on the agenda at the French & Godbold Studio this week. Our card designs are all being prepared for our first print run. We have some old friends re-versioned, “Slugs Dream of Lettuce” (above) and some new delights to keep us all entertained. We get closer every day to our making our ideas into reality and we are looking forward to having all our work available through our website.
French & Godbold
My French & Godbold website was born today, a new small pup of a site, still finding its feet in the big www. But looking lovely all the same. Soon it will house a shop, selling greetings cards designed by me and Richard. I am feeling many levels satisfaction.
All the Fun of the Fair
A lovely day was had on Saturday at the Hertford Vintage Fayre, music, tea and cake, great outfits, good conversations and very positive feedback about my new range of greetings cards. The cards will soon be available for sale online via this website and through Etsy
Satisfaction
I am working hard this week, lecturing has begun and the Hertford Vintage Fayre is on this Saturday. Many illustrations underway and the beginnings of a lovely collection of greeting cards. Its always good to have a deadline and remind oneself what can be achieved in a week.
Night Bird
Garden Birds
A detail from a new illustration of my street. It includes studies of the birds I regularly see in my garden and postal messages from across the sea. It is part of a series of new work I am creating for the Hertford Vintage Fayre in early February. The process of drawing provides a welcome relief from lecture preparation. A happy way to spend my evening.
Experimentation
A new project is underway; a new miniature world. Derived from some initial ideas but now there is much playing and experimentation. I love the feeling of not quite knowing where something is going and allowing the process to guide the way. One never knows what one might find. A delightful way to spend my afternoon.
